Refund Policy

1. Scope

This policy explains how fees and other payments made to Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tikrikilla are treated in the event of withdrawal, cancellation of admission or an error in payment.

2. Fee Structure

The school fee structure for each session is available from the school office. School fees and other dues are liable to be revised at any time, and revised fees take effect on notification by the school.

Fee amounts are not published on this website so that families always receive current figures directly from the office rather than relying on an outdated page.

3. Admission and Registration Charges

• Charges paid at the time of admission or registration cover the processing of the application, the admission test and interview, and the reservation of a seat.
• These charges are generally not refundable once the admission process has been carried out, whether or not the student subsequently joins the school.
• Where a seat is reserved and the student does not report, the school is unable to offer that seat to another applicant for that session, and the charge is retained.

4. Withdrawal During the Session

• Only parents may apply for a Transfer Certificate, and the application must be made in writing to the school office.
• All school fees and other dues must be cleared before a Transfer Certificate or any other certificate is issued.
• Fees already paid for a term or period that has commenced are not refundable.
• Any excess amount paid in advance for a period beyond the date of withdrawal may be considered for refund on written application, at the discretion of the school authorities.

5. Certificate Charges

Charges for certificates are for the processing and issue of the document and are not refundable once the document has been prepared.

6. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Fees are not refunded where a student:

• Is dismissed for indiscipline, insubordination, or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school.
• Is found to have obtained admission by false representation.
• Discontinues studies under the rule that a pupil failing two years in succession in the same class must leave the school.
• Forfeits a seat by failing to report within a week of the opening day of the session.

7. Fines and Penalties

Fines levied for late arrival after the holidays, for breach of school rules, or compensation for damage done to school property or furniture are not refundable. The decision of the Principal regarding compensation to be paid is final.

8. Payment Errors and Duplicate Payments

Where a payment has been made twice, or an amount has been paid in excess of what was due, please report it to the school office promptly with the receipt or transaction reference. Verified excess payments will be adjusted against future dues, or refunded, at the discretion of the school.

9. How to Apply for a Refund

• Submit a written application to the school office stating the reason and the amount claimed.
• Attach the original fee receipt or proof of payment.
• Applications are processed by the office and placed before the Principal for decision.
• Certificates, concession forms and similar documents are issued only two days after applications have been submitted to the office.
• Please note that no school business is transacted on holidays.

10. Discretion of the School

The school may consider a refund on compassionate or exceptional grounds. Any such decision rests with the Principal and the management of the school, and is made case by case.
